THINKING – Sprint 7
Making good decisions under pressure
The reason for this sprint
Knowing where, when and how to be confident in your decision-making is critical to not screwing up, withstanding brutal startup pressures, and ultimately making better decisions because of your teamwork and leadership.
Accurately understanding your own capabilities is an essential starting point, specifically understanding your motivations, traits and skills.
With this understanding you know whom to recruit for your team, what skills you want to develop and with neither over- or under-confidence know when and how to ask for help.
Sprint exercises
In our article “Making Better Decisions by Understanding Your Capabilities: Motivation, Traits and Skills” we deliver a foundational understanding of how motivations, traits and skills define your capabilities.
After that, we describe how to create an inventory of your own motivations, traits, and skills, which involves answering lots of questions.
Filling out the three tables described in the blog will get you thinking and you may be motivated to dig deeper into how some or all of your motivations, traits and skills impact your performance, decision making and potential as a startup leader.
We will then help you understand how to use this understanding to make better startup decisions.
